The suggested directions, sample orders and accompanying text of the bench books and handbooks are produced as guidelines only; they are not intended to lay down or develop any principles of law, but to reflect the law as it stands at any given time. These publications are copyright. Other than for the purposes of, and subject to the conditions prescribed under, the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth), no part of them may in any form or by any means (electronic, mechanical, microcopying, photocopying, recording or otherwise) be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system or transmitted without prior permission.
By opening the bench books and handbooks you are agreeing:
- that it is your responsibility to ensure that you download the latest release of the bench book or handbook from the Judicial Commission’s website so you have the latest pdf version (it is suggested that you check at least monthly);
- not to use the suggested directions, sample orders and/or accompanying text for reproduction in any commercial publication or as a part of any commercial activity, other than for the purposes of preparing for a court case, either as a practitioner (that is, a solicitor or a barrister) or as a member of the judiciary
- other than as above (note 1), that the suggested directions, sample orders and/or accompanying text will be for personal use only and any alterations made to the text will not be circulated.
