Update 20, November 2024
Care and protection matters
Care tree at [2-2000]ff has been revised and updated by his Honour Magistrate Hayes. A new paragraph has been added at [2-2270] Apprehended bias. Amendments have been made to:
Cross-over kids has been updated to reference S Baidawi and R Ball, “Child protection and youth offending: differences in youth criminal court-involved children by dual system involvement” (2023) 144 Children and Youth Services Review at [2-3000].
Important cases have been updated, with new cases included in the following areas:
- Care and protection at [3-1060]
- Evidence at [3-1190]
- Permanency planning at [3-1380]
- Realistic possibility of restoration at [3-1420]
- Unacceptable risk at [3-1460].
Legislation has been updated to include the Children’s Court Regulation 2024.
